New Year, Same Me?

The first week of 2018 is almost over.
To be honest, it doesn’t really feel like a new year, I’ve just been studying for finals so it hasn’t been that exciting so far. But it did come to mind how fast time goes by. It feels like I just recently graduated high school, but I’m already in my second year of college. 2017 has been quite a year. There was a lot of bad news and also a lot of good moments. But we survived the year, and I’m looking forward to what 2018 will bring!

I’m not the type of person to make New Year’s resolutions, but I do get why people make them. A new year can mean a fresh start to some people. I often have that feeling when I get a new haircut or sometimes just when I’m sitting at home and think: You know what, I’m going to read more and exercise!
Every moment is a good moment to start something you’ve always wanted to do. So, today I’m also going to make some resolutions for 2018, because why not:

  • See the people I love more.
I have awesome friends and I want to make more time for them. Let’s create amazing memories this year!
  • Discover new places.
Even just here in Belgium or while traveling, I want to discover new places, countries, …
  • Eat lots of yummy food!
Food is something that can make me extremely happy, so trying out new restaurants or cooking dishes myself is something I want to try this year.
  • Start learning how to drive and get my driver’s license.
I get everywhere by public transportation or people being nice enough to take me there. So I don’t feel the need to get my driver’s license. But I did the theoretical test, so I have this temporary license and I don’t want it to expire. Also, Belgium traffic is SO SCARY. It’s like everyone who gets in their car becomes crazy and I’m pretty scared to get on the road myself.
But this year, I will get it over with!
  • Do the things I love more.
I want to post on my blog more, play the piano more, dance more, read more books, discover new movies and music, …
  • Experimenting with my style.
I really like the clothes I have and I want to try to have more special, unique clothing items in my ‘collection’. I also want to try thrifting!

Conclusion is: Let’s be happy in 2018!
You can’t always be happy, but I hope the majority of 2018 will be spend smiling 😊

Let’s spread positivity this year!

Do you have any new years resolutions? Let me know!

Have a great day/night!

Sarah
